Industries

Complex products,engineered end-to-end.

Ermitage Industries designs and builds production systems: on-chain protocols, payment infrastructure, data platforms, and the products that run on them.

01 — Position

Most products die between disciplines.

Between the design and the API.

Between the backend and the chain.

Between the demo and the deploy.

There is no wall.

Ermitage removes those seams. One practice carries a system from the first sketch to production: the interface, the services behind it, the data, the infrastructure, and the chain when the problem calls for one. Nothing gets thrown over a wall, because there is nobody to throw it to.

Systems that had to be right.

Lending protocols holding real collateral. Billing systems where the money has to reconcile. Live products replaced underneath their own users. This is the work we are brought in for.

MLKY

A lending protocol for graded collectibles

DeFi · Solana

2025 — present

In-house product

A lending platform that lets collectors borrow against professionally graded trading cards. Ermitage designed and built all of it: the on-chain protocol holding the collateral, the valuation and risk services behind it, and the products borrowers and lenders use. It runs today as an invite-only beta.

  • 01Single-team ownership from the on-chain protocol to the interface, designed as one architecture
  • 02A valuation service that prices assets with no continuous market, and withholds credit when the data behind a price degrades
  • 03Protocol-enforced custody: collateral cannot be pledged twice, under either its digital or its physical identity
  • 04Autonomous default resolution backed by a reserve fund, requiring no operator intervention

Sharky.fi

A token lending protocol, shipped to mainnet

DeFi · Solana

2023 — 2025

Protocol engineering

Sharky is the largest NFT lending protocol Solana has had, by all-time lending volume. Ermitage designed and shipped its token lending protocol end to end — the on-chain program, the developer SDK, and the product around it — from an empty directory to a live mainnet deployment. We also wrote most of the protocol's newer lending logic, including support for two additional classes of collateral.

  • 01A complete token lending protocol designed and built inside a system already carrying live positions: capital pools with lender accounting, an order book for matching terms, and the full loan lifecycle through borrowing, repayment, extension and foreclosure
  • 02Carried from first commit to mainnet deployment, and supported through launch
  • 03Two further classes of collateral added to the core protocol, each with its own on-chain logic
  • 04The whole path from program to user: the SDK other engineers integrate against, the application's state layer, live position data, and hardware wallet support

Underground Society

Buy now, pay later for NFTs

Web3 · Lending

2022 — 2023

Protocol & backend engineering

A buy-now-pay-later protocol for NFTs, shipped and verified on Solana mainnet. A buyer puts down part of the price, the protocol finances the balance from its own lending pools and holds the asset as collateral until it is paid off. Ermitage wrote the on-chain programs, the backend that signs and services every loan, and the automation that handles repayment and liquidation.

  • The financing mechanism designed and built end to end: down payment, credit drawn from the protocol's own pools, instalment repayment, redemption and liquidation, all enforced on-chain so the terms hold independently of any operator
  • Sole author of the on-chain stack: the lending program, the auction-house program, and the core state machine that holds collateral and tracks every loan position
  • Principal author of the backend that signs transactions and keeps live positions solvent, including automated liquidation, repayment checks, fee distribution and disposal of recovered collateral

9D Breathwork reports that more than a million people across eighty countries have been through its programmes. Ermitage built the systems that move its money and measure its business, and now leads engineering on the flagship product itself, taken over from the outside agency that started it.

  • Took the flagship product over from the external agency that had been building it, and has led its engineering since
  • The checkout and billing platform behind their high-value programmes, including instalment plans, multiple financing providers and split payments
  • A billing ledger that reconciles obligations against payments continuously, migrated onto the live system in place and without downtime

ChopCorp

An on-chain game economy, shipped to mainnet

DeFi · Solana

2025 — 2026

Lead engineering partner

A Solana protocol built around continuous mining rounds, a growing prize pool, prediction markets and competitive positions. Ermitage led the engineering across every layer: the rules that ran on-chain, the service that kept the protocol settling around the clock, and the product players used. It was built out from ORE, an open-source mining protocol, and we wrote most of what was added to both halves.

Rust · Solana · TypeScript · Next.js · PostgreSQL · Redis · Docker

  • Lead engineering on a protocol that shipped to mainnet and ran with real value moving through it, with no maintenance window to hide behind
  • The protocol's on-chain surface more than tripled, in whole subsystems: prediction markets, an on-chain marketplace, competitive seat auctions, sponsored prize pools, referral accounting and auto-compounding staking
  • An off-chain service that is a system in its own right: it indexes the chain, routes and executes trades on a decentralised exchange, runs treasury operations, snapshots holders, and reports its own health

In-house R&D

An in-house build: a token launchpad where the community proposes and votes, and winning proposals launch automatically. We build our own products to stay fluent in every layer we sell.

TypeScript · Node.js · PostgreSQL · Solana · AWS · Next.js · React Native

  • Proposing and voting carry no transaction cost, removing the primary barrier to participation
  • Winning proposals launch on-chain automatically, with operator keys in managed custody
  • A mobile app built around a single gesture, so voting takes about a second

03 — Capabilities

Four disciplines, one practice.

C.01From prototype to production.

Product Engineering

Complete products built by the people who designed them. The interface, the services behind it, the data underneath, and the path to production are one job here, so nothing is lost in the handover between them.

  • Web applications — React, Next.js, TypeScript
  • Mobile applications — React Native
  • APIs & backend services
  • Admin systems & internal tooling
C.02Protocol engineering on Solana.

Distributed & Web3 Systems

On-chain protocols and everything they quietly depend on: pricing services, automation that keeps them running, wallet support that works on a phone. Most Web3 projects fail on the second half of that list.

  • Solana protocols — Rust, Anchor
  • Pricing & valuation services
  • Automation, monitoring & keepers
  • Wallet integration & custody design
C.03Systems that move money correctly.

Commerce & Financial Infrastructure

Checkout, billing, commissions and payouts. The hard part is never taking the first payment. It is what happens on the retry, the refund, the failed card halfway through an instalment plan.

  • Payments & subscription billing
  • Billing ledgers & reconciliation
  • Commission & payout systems
  • Migrating live systems without downtime
C.04Designed to fail safely.

Architecture & Security

Data architecture, cloud infrastructure, and a security posture grounded in formal training. It informs everything we build, which is why we do not sell it separately.

  • Data architecture & analytics platforms
  • Cloud infrastructure & deployment
  • Security review & key management
  • Performance & operational readiness

04 — System map

One system, six layers.

Which technologies you use matters less than how they fit together. This is the shape of an Ermitage system. Every layer is chosen so it can be replaced later without taking the rest down with it.

05 — About

Ermitage Industries is an engineering practice working across production systems, protocol infrastructure and digital products.

It was founded on a training in embedded systems and cybersecurity, both at Grenoble INP, with a master’s thesis on smart contract security written inside Sharky, the largest NFT lending protocol Solana has had. That background is why the practice reads a system from the silicon up.

The work since has stayed close to systems where being roughly right is not good enough: protocols holding other people’s collateral, billing that has to reconcile, commissions that cannot pay the same sale twice. Ermitage stays deliberately small, so the people designing your system are the ones building it.
