Scope

A Solana protocol built around continuous mining rounds, a growing prize pool, prediction markets and competitive positions. Ermitage led the engineering across every layer: the rules that ran on-chain, the service that kept the protocol settling around the clock, and the product players used. It was built out from ORE, an open-source mining protocol, and we wrote most of what was added to both halves.

01

Problem

Take ORE, a minimal open-source mining program, and build it into a working game economy without disturbing the protocol already running or the holders already in it. Every change shipped to a live system with no rollback window.

02

Approach

The on-chain rules grew several times over, into prediction markets, an on-chain marketplace, competitive seat auctions decided by falling price, sponsored prize pools, referral accounting and self-compounding staking. Off-chain, a dedicated service acted as the protocol's clock: settling rounds on time, indexing the chain, running treasury operations including trade routing through a decentralised exchange, and reaching the community through the channels players already used.

03

What shipped

The protocol reached Solana mainnet and ran through 2026, with the economy, the automation and the client all in production. Activity has since wound down. The base game design is ORE's, the open-source protocol this was built out from; everything layered on top of it, and the infrastructure that kept it settling, was engineered here.
